1.Carpool School Edition

Designed for students who carpool to school. The app lets you create a group from your contacts or people who live near you. It also lets you create a schedule manually or have it automatically generated based on driver’s preferences (morning drop-off, afternoon pick-up). Additionally, you can add notes or updates to the group and you can also email the carpool schedule.

2. KarPooler

This app is particularly useful for managing communications with the kids in the carpool and other parents, in case you need assistance for unforeseen delays (traffic pileups, weather changes, etc.). KarPooler lets you text everyone at once should you have to change last-minute the pick-up time or location. It also has a DropCheck feature, which notifies all parents via text that their kid has been safely dropped-off.

3. Car Pool Party

Designed to take the stress out of organizing a carpool. The app looks at all the people in the group, their past history (if available), and determine who drives and when. It creates a schedule to help you remember when it is your turn to drive. The app also saves the carpool history so you know when the last time you drove was.

Cozi is an online tool that has a mobile app so it’s very easy and flexible to use. The tool lets parents create shared calendars with tons of information and each family is color-coded. Driving arrangements can be made on the calendar and be viewed on mobile devices as well as a regular computer.

Looptivity lets you organize your communications around your various activities, Create a “loop” (similar to a group) for school carpool, soccer carpool, book club, PTA, etc. You will be able to reach the exact people you need easily.
