System notifies when vehicle maintenance is needed

The Honda Maintenance Minder has been on Hondas for roughly the past five years.
The maintenance minder works like this:
- The system monitors engine operating condition, including engine temperature, speed, and vehicle use and takes that data to determine when maintenance is needed. Since the system is monitoring the vehicle, it can move up and move back the frequency of service based on driving habits.
- The maintenance minder will notify the driver when service is needed through a series of easy to follow codes that show up in the information dash. The owners’ manual will help the driver decipher codes. They could simply be a oil light, or tire pressure indicator.
- The maintenance minder is run by an internal service and requires nothing more from the driver than to service the vehicle when necessary.
