Howdy Honda pledges to annually donate at least 1% of total pre-tax earnings to local community-based charity organizations. This pledge is part of our commitment to help Austin organizations fulfill their mission of community service.
Making this pledge is part of our participation in AustinGives. AustinGives: Businesses Giving Back is a new program launched in January 2012 designed to recognize and encourage business philanthropy in Austin. This program will annually highlight local businesses that contribute a specific minimum percentage of their earnings to community-based charitable organizations.
The AustinGives program is modeled after the Minnesota Keystone Program from the Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce. Their initiative has been in existence for over 30 years and recognizes local businesses that annually donate a minimum of 2 percent of pre-tax earnings.
In general Howdy Honda is known as one of the most honest Honda dealers in Central Texas, but our vast philanthropic work goes largely unnoticed because we believe in giving to those local charities that need our help without expecting anything in return. However, we are really proud that we are able to be a participate in the AustinGives program because it gives us a venue to showcase our involvement in the community as well as stand beside other local businesses that value philanthropy as much as we do.
Through this post, we are inviting other business owners to sign the AustinGives pledge and help Austin’s charitable organizations, which are deeply committed to serving our community’s social needs, by donating at least 1% of pre-tax earnings to them.
Let’s Keep Austin United!
