Willie Nelson Special Edition Honda Ridgeline Signed by Willie Himself!
In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, United Heritage Charity Foundation wanted to do something to raise funds and awareness for the victims left with nothing. With a donated Honda Ridgeline in and the spirit of giving, anything is possible.
Willie Nelson and friends played a benefit concert in Austin, Texas on September 22nd of 2017. Central Texas Dealers attempted to auction off the truck, but unfortunately, engagement was low.
So United Heritage Charity Foundation took the opportunity to try to raise more money this holiday season for victims in need. They have launched a raffle for the truck with only 1000 tickets available for purchase at $100 each. All funds benefit victims left with nothing this holiday season.
This is a great opportunity to help the communities affected by Hurricane Harvey.
The all-new 2018 Honda Ridgeline has been signed by Willie Nelson himself and has hand painted details on it by Joe from the hit TV show, “Iron Resurrection.” The truck’s hood is covered by a popular mural of Willie from downtown Austin, by Ross Wiley. This truck has an MSRP of $44,092.
Purchase tickets at local Honda dealers in Austin, including Howdy Honda or visit any United Heritage Credit Union location for tickets. Call 512-443-4300 for more information! The raffle ends December 29th, 2017. Make sure your name is on the lucky ticket!

Most Fuel Efficient 2017 Honda Model
Honda is well-known in the automotive industry for manufacturing reliable, quality cars with great fuel economy ratings. The majority of the current Honda models offers fuel economy ratings of over 30 MPG. Howdy Honda put together information about the most fuel efficient 2017 Honda model, as well as a list of the runner-up models that offer at least 30 MPG.
As a larger Austin business, Howdy Honda had already implemented the city’s universal recycling ordinance. But, after personal experience with environmental initiatives at home, General Manager Cliff Collier wanted to go further. He’d added 21 solar panels to his 2,600 square-foot home about three years ago; since then, his energy bills have dropped significantly, and he gets credits in the winter.
“I saw the results at home and wanted to do it here,” he says. “The cost savings makes it easy, but it’s also the right thing to do – we have to take care of this planet.”
Since then, the dealership has made significant environmental modifications that have resulted in big changes – and much less of an environmental impact. Of course, seeing is believing — and this aerial video says it all.
Collier and Howdy Honda have worked with Circular Energy on a complete environmental overhaul over the last three years, including installing the 706 rooftop solar panels you see in the video, as well as replacing all exterior mercury vapor lights with LED alternatives, and all incandescent interior lighting with fluorescents.
Those efforts recently earned the dealership a Gold Award as part of Honda’s national Environmental Leadership initiative. Launched in 2012, the core of the voluntary dealer program includes a 10 percent reduction in energy use, water conservation, and recycling.
Honda has been working to reduce the environmental impact of its products, manufacturing and logistics operations, and facilities in North America over the last 30 years, so expanding its environmental initiatives to dealers was a logical next step.
As independent businesses, each Honda dealer is responsible for developing strategies to reduce their environmental impact – and Collier and team took that to heart. While the award wasn’t Collier’s goal, he’s proud of the recognition.
“Qualifying is a level of accomplishment – it exhibits the fact that we’re doing something positive for the environment,” says Collier. “Now, our goal is to add motion-initiated light switches and other modifications and get to the Platinum level.”
A better customer experience
Collier and the team at Howdy Honda were also recently honored with the 2014 Honda President’s Award. The award is a reflection of the entire dealership scorecard – buying, selling, service, and parts – and the dealership was the only Honda store in the Austin market area to receive it.
“It’s about the total dealership experience – no matter what the need – and we’ve been able to fill it at a level of quality that’s tops in the industry,” says Collier, who has been general manager of Howdy Honda for the last 26 years. “In this business, success is about working hard and treating people well. When people come to Howdy Honda, they’ll be treated better than anywhere.”

Our team at Howdy Honda is hoping to help raise awareness and funds for the beautiful daughter of Mike Norton, one of the dealership’s valued automotive specialists. Mike’s daughter, Katelyn, was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor called a schwannoma tumor. Due to an expensive surgery, extensive rehabilitation and treatment for the unfortunate return of the tumor, Mike and his family have incurred unmanageable expenses. The Howdy Honda family wants to help one of its own and also help Katelyn Norton press on during this difficult time.
Katelyn Norton is a fighter. She has already survived a challenging surgery and difficult rehabilitation. She also continues to fight her battle after discovering regrowth of the tumor during a follow-up neurological appointment. As a result of the first surgery, Katelyn has experienced complications that impact her daily life. She has lost hearing in one ear and has experienced paralysis on one side of her face. While these struggles are present, Katelyn keeps a smile on her face and brings joy to all who meet her.
In addition to seeking treatment for the schwannoma, Katelyn’s family also hopes to find specialists to reverse the damage of her surgery complications.
While these surgeries will still need to take place down the line, the Norton family’s primary goal is to get Katelyn healthy again. Katelyn will need to undergo another series of treatments to reduce and eliminate the schwannoma regrowth. The Norton family has weathered the news of Katelyn’s tumor. They have defeated it once before through a series of surgery and rehabilitation. They have also remained strong and optimistic despite the tumor’s regrowth. However, many challenges stand in their way to get Katelyn the help she needs. On top of financial struggles, the Norton family is also battling with its insurance company, which has denied its claim as the specialist they seek is across state lines.
What you can do
While Katelyn and the Norton family are in need of financial support, they also need to share Katelyn’s story and raise awareness for schwannoma tumor treatment.
To help Katelyn and the Norton family, we can make a financial contribution by visiting her YouCaring site at http://bit.ly/KatelynNorton. We can also contact email@example.com if we don’t want to make a contribution online. Additionally we can share Katelyn’s story through social media platforms and e-mail. Send this page to friends, family and generous acquaintances or share Katelyn’s YouCaring site. We can also send the Norton family our love, support, positive thoughts and prayers. For more information on how to help our teammate, Mike Norton, and his brave daughter, Katelyn, contact us at Howdy Honda today.

Just in! Honda has been named the “Most Trusted Brand” three straight years and “Best Overall Brand” for a second consecutive year.
“A brand is really built over the long haul through consumers’ experiences with its products, and Honda is committed to delivering class-leading vehicles that provide lasting enjoyment and value to our customers,” said Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of the Honda automobile division for American Honda. “Honda simply embraces the challenge of being a brand that people can trust.”
Once again, new-car shoppers have recognized the Honda brand as “Most Trusted Brand” and “Best Overall Brand” for Kelley Blue Book’s 2014 Brand Image Awards. KBB’s 2014 Image Awards are based on consumer data derived from the Kelley Blue Book Market Intelligence Brand Watch study. Brand Watch is an online brand and model study that taps into over 12,000 in-market-new-vehicle shoppers every year on KBB.com. This in-depth study offers an observation on how shoppers perceive certain factors driving their auto purchase decisions, and captures brand loyalty and familiarity data among shoppers. Honda secured the highest average score across all non-luxury models for the “Best Overall Non-Luxury Brand” title.
“The fact that Honda has again won the Kelley Blue Book Brand Image Awards as Best Overall Brand and Most Trusted Brand comes as no surprise,” said Jack R. Nerad, executive editorial director and executive market analyst for Kelley Blue Book. “Our experience has indicated that consumers continue to both respect Honda vehicles and be enthusiastic about them. Honda’s reputation for quality, reliability and fun-to-drive continues to resonate with buyers of all ages.”
